A good friend of mine is in a fantastic band called FBomb. They are a tribute band to the music of Rock Band and Guitar Hero so when you see them live you’re sure to be dancing and rocking it out! Kelly and I last seen them at the Montreal House in December and the show was awesome.

Canadians Don’t Smile!
I recently discovered a Leaf fan named Steve Dangle who posts a video blog on the Toronto Maple Leafs on a regular basis. His video blogs are quite informative but also a bit on the bizarre side. He effectively combines humour with intelligent commentary to make his segment better than anything you’ll see on a major network.

Saw One Week
Kelly and I went and seen the new Joshua Jackson movie called One Week this past Friday and it wasn’t what I expected. The premise of the movie is Joshua’s character Ben is diagnosed with an aggressive type of cancer in which he’s progressed to Stage 4. Instead of jumping immediately into treatment he purchases a vintage motorcycle and decides to trek across Canada and take as many pictures of the “World’s Biggest” attractions with him in it.

Brutal… Absolutely Brutal…
I saw this video on YouTube and was outraged by what happened. A police officer from Seattle, Washington beat a 15 year old girl who was in their holding cell. After he knocks her to the floor he punches her in the head and then picks her up by her hair and pushes her out of the cell.
Deputy Paul Shane was the officer who dished out the beating and is currently on paid leave. The police department said that they were provoked and that she kicked a shoe at the officer while screaming obscenities. In my opinion the police officer should have showed some professional restraint and if a 15 year old girl can set him off like that, he shouldn’t be wearing the uniform.
Here’s the video from YouTube… It’s pretty disturbing so watch at your own discretion.
Major hard drive failure
I am currently in scramble mode as I attempt to get my server back up and running. Today the old hard drive failed and all the information on it was not recovered. My hosting company offers a fairly economical backup solution that would have allowed me to have the server recovered and back up in running in about 60 minutes. As I thought I would never need it, I didn’t utilize it.
Boy, was I ever wrong.
I have been building and running websites for about 8 years and it was all contained on that server. While I have some backups, a large portion of my data was lost on that dead drive. So I am swatting myself in the head for not making backups a consistent part of my daily/weekly/monthly schedule.
Now I have a huge project…. rebuilding everything that was lost.
Stay tuned… I will keep everyone updated!
